The purpose of the degreasing operation is to eliminate all types of stains that come from :
- machining or shaping lubricants in the case of new parts,
- heat treatment or corrosion protection oils,
- oils and greases used for mechanical movements in the case of renovation,
- polishing operations (polishing or grinding pastes) or mechanical treatments.
Different types of detergents are used depending on the dirt and substrate :
- alkaline degreasers for parts that are medium or very oily. In the form of powder or liquid. Requires a final passivation operation.
- neutral degreasers also known as inter-process detergent for final degreasing or inter-operation degreasing on medium-fat parts. In liquid form, this new generation of degreaser makes it possible to include the anti-corrosion protection function.
- acid degreasers used mainly on aluminum in combination with the deoxidization function. Detergents act on the stains by detachment by modifying the surface tension.
Composition of BONDERITE® detergents :
A detergent consists essentially of 2 parts:
- Mineral part: soda, potash, carbonates, phosphates, silicates, etc.
- Organic part: surfactants, anti-corrosion compounds.
It is the careful dosage of these different components that creates a strong synergy for an optimum result.
Detergent parameters with BONDERITE® : 4 mandatory parameters affect degreasing quality :
- the concentration of the detergent,
- the temperature of the bath,
- processing time,
- the mechanical effect.
